My cake hands!

Ok all you cake decorating gurus out there, this is my first blog. So please bare with me as I get all this new experience rolling.

I've been making cake for many years now...about 8 yrs part-time give or take. I love to make things with my hands. But I not only do cake, but I love other crafting like sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, and general fun artsy stuff. So it's only natural for my hands to take a beating. Within the last year, I've been accidentally dropping things on the floor which is really inconvenient when I have to rewash a utensil or get another one. Well I'd say its more like flinging. Anyway, I drop stuff all the time and have no strength. I finally got it checked out, and yep, you guessed it...carpal tunnel syndrome. Not a big deal really except for the fact I have to have it done on both wrists so recovery time is much longer and I won't be able to squeeze or knead anything until I'm completely healed. I guess summer will be relaxing since I cannot take any customer orders for like three whole months! Yikes! So hopefully it will go well. Did any of you have it done? And were you able to continue your cake passion? I would love to know how it went for you!
